Godfrey Archbold (Chair - LTSA Stakeholder Advisory Committee)
President and CEO
Godfrey Archbold is the President and CEO of the LTSA. He reports to the LTSA's Board of Directors and is responsible for the executive oversight of the company. Prior to the launch of the LTSA, Godfrey had an extensive career with the BC public service in a variety of senior roles.

David Bazett (Vice Chair - LTSA Stakeholder Advisory Committee)
British Columbia Land Surveyor
Dave was commissioned as a British Columbia Land Surveyor in 1979 and as a Canada Lands Surveyor in 1992. In addition to traditional legal survey work he has headed up contracts for the Province's TRIM mapping project involving GPS control surveys, targeting, and cadastral ties.
Dave owns and operates a float equipped aircraft for transportation to remote projects throughout BC. He has modified the aircraft to mount a medium format camera and has acquired thousands of aerial photographs for a wide range of applications including inventory, mapping and as a supplement to traditional methods of measurement. Dave was elected to the Board of Management of the Association of BC Land Surveyors for five years, serving as President in 2004 when the LTSA was established. He actively contributes to government liaison and stakeholder initiatives on behalf of the Association.

Ralston S. Alexander, Q.C.
Life Bencher
Called to the bar in 1970, Ralston Alexander is a partner with Cook Roberts in Victoria and practices as a solicitor, with an emphasis on commercial real estate and business law.
First elected a Bencher of the Law Society in 1999, Ralston was the Society's President for 2005. He is currently a member of the Public Affairs Committee and of the Conveyancing Practices Task Force (2002-present). He continues for one year as a member of the Futures Committee (2002-06), the Alternative Dispute Resolution Task Force (2001-06), the Paralegal Task Force (2002-06), the Western Law Societies Task Force (2003-06), and he currently chairs the Law Society Task Force on Title Insurance Issues.
Ralston previously served as the Law Society's First Vice-President (2004) and Second Vice-President (2003), as well as on the Credentials Committee as a member (2002-03) and Chair (2004), as Chair of the Technology Committee (2001-04) and the Real Estate Act Exemption Task Force (2003-04), on the Ethics Committee as a member (1995-2001) and Chair (2002), and on the Electronic Registration Task Force (1999-present). He has also been a member of the Public Affairs Committee (2003-06), the Unauthorized Practice Committee (2000) and the Lawyer Education Task Force (2002-03).
Prior to becoming a Bencher, he served as a non-Bencher member of the Title Insurance Committee (1996-97), the Ethics Committee (1995-1998), the Professional Standards Committee (1992-94) and the Complainants' Review Committee (1989-92).
Ralston has contributed to a number of professional and community organizations. He is a founding member of the Editorial Advisory Board for the Land Title Practice Manual published by the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC, and has been a part-time lecturer for the bar admission program and Professional Legal Training Course for over 30 years. He is Past President and a former Director of the Victoria Bar Association, a former Director of the CLE Society, and has lectured at the University of Victoria Faculty of Law on real property matters and business acquisitions.
He has also served as Chair of the Rotary Club of Victoria Housing Society, Treasurer of the Uplands Golf Club, Chair and Honourary Solicitor to the United Way of Canada, President of the United Way of Greater Victoria, and as President of the Need Crisis Line (Victoria).

G.W. (Wayne) Braid
Secretary and Executive Director
Wayne Braid was raised in Kitimat, British Columbia where he became a licensed general Insurance Agent in 1967 and a licensed Life Insurance Agent in 1968.
Wayne has founded and operated several businesses in the insurance and real estate industry and today is the President of Braid Insurance Agencies with offices based in Terrace and Stewart.
He completed his Bachelor of Business Administration degree as an adult student and in 1984 was accepted as a Notarial Candidate and was enrolled in the University of British Columbia Notarial Studies program. He was enrolled as a Notary in 1986. In 1999, he also completed the University of British Columbia intensive Small Claims Court Mediation Program.
Wayne established his Notary practice in Terrace in 1986, where he served as a Provincial Coroner, Elected School Trustee for Coast Mountain School District and served for three years as the Vice-Chair of the School Board. Wayne also served as a Director of BC Winter Games and Northern BC Winter Games, in addition to his tenure as Past President of the Terrace Rotary Club and a former District Governor's representative for Rotary International.
Wayne practiced as a Notary Public in the community of Terrace from 1986 until January of 2001 when he was appointed to the position of Secretary/Executive Director of The Society of Notaries Public of British Columbia. He is only the sixth individual to hold that position in The Society's 75 years.
It is Wayne's responsibility to see that the membership complies with The Society's stringent Rules and Code of Ethics. His duties include managing the Society's Professional Liability Program and investigating complaints. He is also Executive Officer for The Notary Foundation of British Columbia; the Notary Foundation funds legal education, legal research, law libraries throughout the Province.

Connie Fair
President and Chief Executive Officer
Connie joined the BC Assessment Authority in 1993 as the Director of Policy, Audit and Legal Services. In 1999, she was appointed as the Executive Director of Corporate Services and in 2004, she was appointed as the Executive Director of Assessment. In this capacity, Connie oversees the operations of seven BC Assessment offices across the province.
Prior to joining the BC Assessment Authority, Connie worked as a real estate consultant and as Associate Director, Real Estate Division of the University of British Columbia. She obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in 1984 and a Master of Business Administration majoring in Organizational Behaviour and Urban Land Economics in 1988. Connie is a member of the Real Estate Institute of British Columbia.
An accomplished author and speaker, Connie has been recognized as an expert in real property assessment and taxation and a leader of organizational change initiatives.

Howard Grant
Executive Director
Howard E. Grant is currently the Executive Director of the First Nations Summit (F.N.S.) which represents 42 negotiating tables and 154 First Nations in B.C. Mr. Grant is currently serving his sixth term as an elected Councillor for the Musqueam Indian Band (M.I.B.).
Mr. Grant was previously employed with M.I.B. as the Executive Director from 1992-1997. He also was employed with the federal government (DIAND) in the capacity of Associate Regional Director of Operations and as a District Manager from 1984-1992.
Within his roles of Executive Director (M.I.B.) and senior manager (DIAND), he was responsible for operational issues, policy development and implementation and budget/audit requirements.
Mr. Grant has served and continues to serve on numerous First Nations, and Federal Government Boards and Committees. Also, Mr. Grant sits on many Post-Secondary institutions and public sector committees in the capacity of advisor and/or board member.

Jacqueline Gresko

Jacqueline Gresko has taught History at Douglas College in New Westminster, British Columbia since 1970. She directed the Fraser River Harbour Commission History Project resulting in the publication of Fraser Port a History in 1986.
Jacqueline has contributed articles to the Dictionary of Canadian Biography and the Encyclopedia of British Columbia.
Volunteer work with historical societies in Richmond and Vancouver led to her election as President of the British Columbia Historical Federation in 2003.

Darren Kozol
General Counsel
Called to the bar in 1997, Darren Kozol is General Counsel for Central 1 Credit Union, the liquidity provider and trade association for all of British Columbia's credit unions, as well as for member credit unions in Ontario.
As General Counsel, Darren is responsible for both the legal department and overseeing Central 1 Credit Union's Operation Manual department, which publishes policies, procedures and contracts (including mortgage documents) for British Columbia credit unions.
A British Columbia native, Darren studied at Douglas College, Simon Fraser University and the University of British Columbia. Prior to joining Central 1 Credit Union, Darren practiced law in Vancouver with the firm of Watson Goepel Maledy in a multitude of practice areas including family law, criminal law and foreclosures.

Robert Laing

For almost 30 years, Robert Laing has served the real estate profession in the roles of lawyer, educator and liaison to all levels of government, Crown corporations and regulatory bodies. He joined the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) team in March 2000 as the Director of Government Relations, and since 2002 has served as the Association's Chief Executive Officer. Before joining BCREA, he was head of the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration's Real Estate Division.

Debbie Larson
President
Debbie Larson is the current President of the BC Association of Professional Registry Agents (BCAPRA).
Since 1977, Debbie has been with Dye & Durham Inc. as the Regional Director of Search and Registration (British Columbia) and also the Manager of New Westminster and Abbotsford Operations. Debbie is responsible for 40 staff, which encompasses Land Titles, Litigation and Global Search and File Divisions.

Chris Nation
Municipal Solicitor, District of Saanich
Chris Nation was called to the British Columbia Bar in 1977. He practiced with the Victoria law firm Pearlman and Lindholm until 1979 carrying out a combined Municipal Law and litigation practice. In 1979, he began working as Saanich's first Municipal Solicitor and continues to serve in that role to the present.
He has served on the Boards of the Victoria Conservatory of Music, Glenlyon Norfolk School, the Saanich Legacy Foundation, and the Saanich ZombaKidz aid project in Malawi.

Grant Parnell
Assistant Deputy Minister, Crown Land Administration Division, Ministry of Agriculture and Lands
Grant Parnell is a professional forester and has worked in the BC public service for over 20 years.
Grant has enjoyed a long association with the BC Forest Service in field forestry, forest management, treaty negotiation and senior leadership roles. Prior to moving to Ministry of Agriculture and Lands in 2006, Grant was the Operations Director for BC Timber Sale, an arm of the Forest Service which auctions 20 percent of the provincial forest harvest each year to the private sector.
As the Assistant Deputy Minister of the Crown Land Administration Division, Grant brings a strong background of resource agency experience in both policy and delivery
and represents a key partner of the LTSA providing legislative and strategic policy services to support operations.

Shawn Tryon
Counsel, Toronto-Dominion Bank, Pacific Region
Shawn Tryon was called to the British Columbia Bar in 2005. Shawn completed his LLB at the University of British Columbia in 2004 and prior to that, he received a BA from Simon Fraser University in 2000.
Shawn spent two years in private practice in Vancouver, mainly in real estate and secured lending. In 2007, Shawn joined the Toronto-Dominion Bank as Counsel for TD's Pacific Region. In his role with TD, Shawn provides support for TD's business units operating in BC and the Yukon, as well as providing BC-based advice and input on policy matters and projects for various other TD business units, such as Real Estate Secured Lending.
Shawn is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association. Shawn also serves as a Director and Secretary of TD Pacific Mortgage Corporation.
