Using the LTSA's Electronic Filing System (EFS) for land title documents and survey plans offers many benefits compared to traditional methods. The overriding benefit is that it allows you to provide better service to your clients.
Customer Survey and Customer Comments
To find out which benefits users really value, please view our customer survey undertaken in December 2006.
You can also read direct comments attributed to EFS users here, and read about specific case studies by viewing our EFS Customers page.
Easy to Use
Land title electronic forms are identical to paper forms, so transitioning to EFS is simple. With complete support, training and a help desk, assistance is only a click or phone call away.
You can also opt to have a registry agent perform the 'electronic submission' of your professionally certified documents on your behalf.
Eco-friendliness and Lowered Costs
With the ability to exchange documents electronically between colleagues and the Land Title Office, you will save on courier costs and reduce your paper and printer toner costs, too.
Faster Service
File electronically from your desk and receive pending numbers in seconds, allowing payout activity to start sooner.
Concurrent Signing
With EFS, required signatures can be collected concurrently, saving time.
Fax/E-mail Option to Execute Documents
You can e-mail documents for execution and, based on receipt of a returned fax, or an e-mail with an image of the executed document, you can submit the document and receive pending numbers. EFS substantially reduces time and risk of lost or late documents.
Extended Hours for Submitting Documents
You can submit documents anytime BC OnLine is available (6 am to 10:50 pm Monday to Saturday, and 1 pm to 10:50 pm on Sundays).
Pre-scheduled Filing
EFS offers the ability to request that documents be submitted on a future date (e.g. the 15th or 30th). The person who submits the document receives notification of their pending numbers as early as 6 am. Free up more time to complete the financial end of transactions.
Single & Simplified Property Transfer Return
EFS combines the three paper returns into one form which is easy to complete.
Access to Submitted Documents
Obtain online access to the documents you submitted, showing document number(s), date and time and land title fees.
Remote Access
Receive the same level of service, no matter where you reside in relation to a LTSA office. Regardless of how documents are submitted, LTSA Examiners of Title and other staff are available to respond to customer inquiries pertaining to submissions.
Security
All EFS transactions are completely secure, with digital signatures ensuring authenticity.
An independent survey of firms that use EFS for submitting land title documents shows that 96% of firms liked the speed of the service and 99% would recommend it to other legal professionals.
