The Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia Announces Management Changes and Appointments
VICTORIA - Godfrey Archbold, President and CEO of the Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA), is pleased to announce the following management appointments and changes:
Effective November 10, 2008:
- Ian C.B. Smith, LL.B., formerly the Director and Registrar of Land Titles, has become the LTSA's Special Advisor on Real Property Law in anticipation of his retirement in the spring of 2009.
- Craig D. Johnston, LL.B., has been promoted to the position of Director of Land Titles. Craig joined the LTSA in March 2006 as Registrar of Land Titles for the Victoria and Kamloops offices. Prior to joining the LTSA, Craig worked both in private practice as a solicitor and as corporate counsel with a large BC-based land developer. He has extensive real estate and corporate/commercial experience serving both commercial and residential clients.
- Andrea M. Brace, LL.B., has been appointed as Registrar of the Victoria and Kamloops Land Title Offices. Andrea will be based in Victoria and will regularly visit the Kamloops office. She is joining the LTSA from the Vancouver Island Health Authority (VIHA) where she worked as General Counsel. Prior to VIHA, Andrea worked with the Greater Vancouver Regional District (now known as Metro Vancouver) as Corporate Solicitor. Both positions involved corporate/commercial and real estate legal matters.
Effective September 29, 2008:
- Larry S. Blaschuk, LL.B., was appointed as Registrar of the New Westminster Land Title Office. He joined the LTSA from private practice as a solicitor in Vancouver where he has had extensive real estate and corporate/commercial experience serving both commercial and residential clients. Earlier in his career, Larry was in-house counsel with a Lower Mainland title search company.
Craig, Andrea and Larry will oversee the operations of the LTSA's Land Title Division. They are the primary contacts for stakeholders that may have issues related to land title applications for registration or queries about complex land title matters.
