VICTORIA - Minor house keeping amendments have been made to the Land Title Act and the Land Title and Survey Authority Act to update operational details of the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia. The amendments were included in the Miscellaneous Statues Amendment Act (No. 2), 2007 at http://www.leg.bc.ca/38th3rd/3rd_read/gov35-3.htm.
The legislative changes clarify some of the descriptions of services for which fees are charged under the Land Title Act, provide authority to remove a redundant notation from land titles, and update information as a result of the creation of the Authority. The changes support the Land Title and Survey Authority in its continued commitment to excellence in customer service.
The amendments finalize the orderly transition of the land title and survey systems from the Province to the Land Title and Survey Authority.
