The LTSA has converted land title documents consisting of active charges received from 1960 to 1989 from microfiche to electronic format. These active charges include easements and rights of way. As a result of this conversion, clients are now able to access these documents electronically through BC OnLine. Providing electronic access is less expensive and saves time for customers, eliminating the need for them to contact or visit a Land Title Office.
Transfers, mortgages and releases are not included in this conversion nor are some charge types which could not easily be converted from microfilm.
Most paper documents that have been received at Land Title Offices since 1990 are now accessible online.
