CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 430

June 30, 2006

TO ALL BRITISH COLUMBIA LAND SURVEYORS

Re: Integrated Survey Area No. 51 District of Langford, Official Plan and Coordinates

The District of Langford was constituted as Integrated Survey Area No. 51 by order of the Surveyor General on June 30, 2006 under authority of section 12, Part 2 of the Land Survey Act.

The official integrated survey area (ISA) listings are published as a viewable Adobe Acrobat PDF format file for your convenience. This enables users to quickly use the â€"Find” tool to electronically search for the desired geodetic control marker. The listings are published in an electronic format under the authority of section 13(5) of the Land Survey Act. The listings are not published on the Land Title and Survey Authority website in a printable format due to the nature of the distribution rights of the data.

Please note that the official plan and listing for Integrated Survey Area No. 51 is available for viewing on-line or downloading via the Surveyor General Division website at the following address: http://www.ltsa.ca/sgd_ispplans.htm This page displays a table of all the integrated survey areas in numerical order. The ISA number provides a link to the coordinate listing and ISA name provides a link to the official ISA plan.

The Langford integrated survey area control monument sketches are viewable from the MASCOT website at the following address http://aardvark.gov.bc.ca/apps/mascotw/. Users may initiate a monument query by entering the geodetic control marker number or tablet marker to retrieve the selected monument information table. The monument description is viewable by clicking on the link below the â€"Type” field and the monument sketch is viewable by clicking on the link in the monument description display window.

Legal surveys within ISAs must be integrated according to Part 5 of the General Survey Instruction Rules. A grace period will be allowed for surveys commenced prior to the publication of the new official coordinate listings, however, all surveys completed on or after August 31, 2006 must comply with Part 5 of the rules. We encourage land surveyors to use NAD83 (CSRS), where possible, on all plans prior to August 31, 2006.

Yours sincerely,
