CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 434
March 28, 2007
TO ALL BRITISH COLUMBIA LAND SURVEYORS
Re: Consent on Subdivision, Reference and Explanatory Plans where the Provincial Crown is the Registered Owner of the Land
Despite survey rule 157(p), where the Provincial Government is the owner of titled land, an authorized person from the Integrated Land Management Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands (ILMB) must now sign subdivision, reference and explanatory plans of that land, as owner, on behalf of government.
ILMB has the signing authority where the title to the land is registered to:
1. Her Majesty the Queen in the Right of the Province of British Columbia
2. The Ministry of Agriculture and Lands
3. Any former ministry, the responsibilities of which now rest with the Ministry of Agriculture and Lands.
Signature Block for Crown owned parcels
HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN IN RIGHT OF
THE PROVINCE OF BRITISH COLUMBIA
as represented by the Minister of Agriculture
and Lands

This new practice is effective immediately. Accordingly, this office will make an application to amend Survey Rule 157(p).
