Circular Letters

CIRCULAR LETTER NO. 437

June 18, 2008

TO ALL BRITISH COLUMBIA LAND SURVEYORS

Re: Electronic Survey Plan System
Additional Plan Requirements for Electronic Survey Plans

The Director of Land Titles has updated the Requirements for Electronic Filing Bulletin 0104. Additional Director’s requirements contained in Schedule B of this bulletin provide direction to land surveyors in regard to the preparation of electronic survey plans in addition to those provided for in the Association’s General Survey Instruction Rules. This document may be viewed on the Land Title and Survey Authority’s (Authority) website at Requirements for Electronic Filing.

To assist land surveyors, in the preparation of electronic survey plans the Authority has also prepared or updated two other documents:

Firstly, we have prepared a Table of Concordance to provide easy cross-reference of Schedule B to the existing Survey Rules for both hard copy plans and electronic plans. This document is titled, "Land Titles ELECTRONIC FILING SYSTEM (EFS) Requirements for Land Title Plans - Table of Concordance”, and may be viewed at Land Titles Electronic Filing System (EFS).

Secondly, we have updated the Signatures and Approvals template document which contains the signatures and approvals templates to be included in the electronic plan application form. This document is titled the Signatures and Approvals Template.

For further information about Electronic Survey Plans or training, please contact the Surveyor General Division at 250-952-5021.

It is anticipated that all of Schedule B will, over time, be adopted into the Association’s General Survey Instruction Rules.

Yours sincerely,
