Dialog #1
Surveyor General Branch
Dialog No. 1
October 31, 2003
Welcome to Dialog No. 1
Item 1 - Requesting Parcel Designations for Land Act Surveys
To issue a parcel designation we require a complete copy of the Offer Letter issued by Land and Water British Columbia Inc. (LWBC), signed by both your client and LWBC. The Offer Letter usually consists of several pages, outlining terms and conditions of the offer and includes a sketch plan defining the area of interest. In order to facilitate the parcel designation process, please ensure we receive a copy of the complete signed offer. Reference - Circular Letter No. 417.
Item 2 - Expression of Areas on Plans
In December 2002, changes were made to the manner in which areas are to be depicted on plans prepared pursuant to the Land Act. In general, the policy requires areas of district lots or blocks, roads and water bodies to be expressed individually. There are several sample plans contained within Circular Letter No. 413 for your reference.
Item 3 - Plan Submissions
The Surveyor General Branch no longer requires submission of two preliminary prints for Land Act surveys. Please submit the original mylar complete with four (4) paper prints. Reference - Circular Letter No. 417.
- Land Title Act plan submissions are to include one (1) original mylar, one (1) duplicate mylar and ten (10) paper prints.
- Please include a Crown file number (either a ministry or an LWBC file number) on your correspondence to this office.
- In the event you have been dealing with one of our staff, please submit your returns marked to the attention of that staff person.
Your cooperation in these matters will be greatly appreciated.
Jeff Beddoes, B.C.L.S., C.L.S.
